There are two main kinds of online data gathering:

Surveys:

You are interested in aggregate numbers
You do not need to analyze individual responses–often you cannot because there are too many
You do not need to get back to the individuals who give you their responses
Respondents cannot provide more than one response per survey
Respondents cannot update their responses
You have to request people to answer your survey

Individual business forms:

You are interested in the information each person gives to you
You will act on each respondent's information
You may need to get back to the people who send you information
You may want respondents complete the form many times
Respondents may have to update their responses
People will often want to fill in a form because they need to give you their information

Askget has a wealth of other features that let you manage your forms and respondent information. Hidden fields are items on a form that you can edit, but which the respondent never sees. You can download responses and get them quickly into Word or Excel. You can put all of your form and response data into a data warehouse–an Access file you can download for further analysis or interfacing to another database.
